2016 Apex Mountain Challeng – Longboard Race

This is the first, and by definition most awesome, sanctioned race in the Okanagan! Sept 17th 2016 – be there.

Before you tell us that Challenge has an “E” on the end of it, we know. The handmade trophy was spelt wrong last year, and it just kind of stuck. The race track is a road on a ski resort (called Apex Mountain btw). Which is a pretty good indication that its gonna be epic. Because if you have been skating down hills for any length of time you will have noticed that ski resorts are the first place to look for mouth-watering windy goodness.

And thank the skate gods! This race is being organized and held by skaters. People who want to get in as many runs as possible, and have kept the rates totally affordable (with an option to just freeride!). Currently its only a one day event, but you can be sure that there be a ton of skaters in the area skating all over the place that weekend. The Okanagan is bountiful is more than one way.

So find someone with a car, pack all your homies into it, and hit this race! Huge props to Freeride Boardshop for hosting this event!

Push box start
First 2 advance

Racer Equipment MANDATORY
Knee and elbow pads, fullface helmet and gloves
Leather suit highly recomended

Freeride euipment MANDATORY
Knee pads, helmet and gloves

Riders get free hot-dogs ( max of 4 )
Media coverage with Old Child Media and Preserved light photography
