FLATSPOT RAYNE CATALYST
We had the pleasure of getting our very own graphic run of Rayne Catalysts. But why pick the smallest freestyle board from a longboard company? Cause this one is perfect for skating the wok (our 3.5′ wooden, concrete coping bowl). The story behind the graphic is kind of interesting. One day an artist rolled in looking for blank decks. Not long after he was running longboard painting workshops in the shop. Soon after that we comissioned a piece of deck art from him, and BAM, we had a board. Juan Rico is the man, and him and his partner make up Olliemoonsta, who have quite a fantastic array of illustrations and large murals and graffiti pieces.
So whats going on in the art? Well, a diet of only microwaved ramen resulted in a repulsive roaring noodle monster that has the sleep deprived squint of the college student it once was. It is preparing to feast upon a wok of shralping skaters, but they too will join the vegetables.
Some have been known to call it the Flatulyst, which brings farting to mind. PROPOSTEROUS. This board is nothing like ass air. Its a rad board, and although farting is incredibly entertaining (and I have seen rad blue angels for that matter), this board is different in its radness. You dig? Its light, got a snappy pop, and WONT SNAP. Thats not to say it wont razer tail, every board razer tails, this one just wont snap in half. Wanna focus a board after attempting something so many times its clear you can’t do it? Too bad, it wont happen with this one, save your ankles for skating.
We don’t really have a name for the board. Mathematicians call it the (Flatspot x Rayne)^Catalyst. Bro’s call it a cruiser, street skaters call it a pool board, brazilians call it a tech-slider. It is most certainly all those things, as well as a skateboard. Flat-Cat has been thrown around, but that sounds like road kill. So call it whatever you want.
Oh, and if you were wondering what the noodles spell, your out of luck, we don’t know either.
This last picture is a picture of the wok that the ramen monster is holding. This board and this bowl sizzel like a tongue torching thai stir-fry.
