Arbor Skateboards Daniel MacDonald & Tyler Howell Pro Downhill Boards Out Now!

Daniel MacDonald and Tyler Howell have some of the most fun going downhill. After years of patience these two shredders finally have their Pro Arbor Downhill Boards out and available to the masses. While these guys have some differences in downhill style, their boards are both made with a hat tip to Classic California downhill shapes, but in a modern, composite construction celebrating the unique intersection of speed, style, and environment that is downhill skateboarding.

We would definitely love to see more footage from these two shredders, but we are happy to see they are finally getting the pro downhill boards they deserve. No disrespect to Arbor, the brand has been fighting an uphill battle for sometime. With the business environment being so tough, it’s no surprise there have been some delays and we’re really just stoked they’re here. We had hoped to see these boards last year (even before) and were surprised to see Arbor drop a new Pro Wheel lineup featuring Daniel, Tyler and Axel Serrat before the boards. Well, that’s not entirely true, Axel has had his 37″ and 34″ double kicks out for a while now, but Daniel and Tyler hadn’t been so lucky. If you’re not familiar with the wheel line up, we highly recommend them. Peep the wheels in some of the videos below and feel free to connect with us for more info. Otherwise, get a load of the new downhill boards below!

Danial MacDonald
Originally from Washington, DC, Danny Mac has been on the coast in California for long enough now to fully embody the life. Danny has put his time in on Malibu’s fastest roads developing his patented hard charging yet smooth, surf style and continues to progress in ways few can hope to match.

Tyler Howell
A Santa Barbara local, Tyler Howell has a naturally fluid California style of downhill skating. Tyler has been impressing us with his powerful and technical determination. The first time I met Tyler was probably a Boomtown Slide Jam, and I remember he was launching Miller Flips all day, on a Vugenhausen. No one had seen anything like it on a downhill board. His approach is unique and very rad and gives up and coming skaters something to aspire to.

Whether you reckon you’re more of a Daniel or more of a Tyler, you’re getting some of the best construction we have ever seen from Arbor and some of the best in the industry as a whole right now. Both decks are built to be stiff, long lasting and hard charging. I would suggest these Arbor decks to anyone looking at a Chase Hiller Pantheon Chaisey, Landyachtz PT Blaze or Freedive Reef, Moonshine Outlaw, or maybe a Rocket Rooster. while the Moonshine and the Rocket seem to have some over the top construction, I wouldn’t ignore the Arbor, especially given the price tag.

If you haven’t found what you’re looking for, be sure to check out our full selection in our web store. We’ve got one of Canada’s largest selection of decks and completes ready to ship worldwide.
