Orangatang Drops Their Softest Serving: 77a Blue Caguama and Kegel Wheels

Orangatang Wheels dropped the Caguama earlier this summer, their largest wheel yet at 85mm. Using a similar core to the Kegel wheel, but a larger overall shape, new diamond pattern profile and a stone ground lip, the Caguama took the already ballin’ Kegel and bling’ed it out!

Now that we have the Kegel and the Caguama for all the big wheel needs you could hope for, Orangatang has gone and dropped it them both in a limited soft formula 77a durometer. // read more

FUBU Vancouver 2018 // An All-Womyn Longboarding Weekend

After years of being a successful Toronto event, FUBU, an All-Womyn Longboarding Weekend event, has made its way to Vancouver. While never specifically “for men”, I am sure we can all agree, most of the longboard events are hosted and participated in by men and others take a back seat to their presence, intentional or not. Additionally, while these events might be open to all genders and skill levels, they are primarily “egalitarian” and not actually designed to welcome less experienced people and foster their time there at the event. Typically events are geared to a higher level of skill, whether or not they are competitive, and those with the most skills get to dominate the space. The FUBU events are geared to welcome not just womyn, but all skill levels, and there is a distinct tone of fun and friendliness that rarely exists in other event spaces.

We are stoked to for Vancouver’s first FUBU and hopeful for more to come in years ahead. Hope to see you there!

Landyachtz Presents: Flatspot Highway Jam XIX

We are stoked to announce the next Highway Jam!!!!

Landyachtz Longboards Presents: FLATSPOT Highway Jam XIX

Some of our best jams have been Landy Jams. Remember the Hawgs Tracer Jam?! Or the Ramathorn release Jam?! or How about the LY Snowskate Highway Jam?! We have had some of the best times with the Eh Team. Despite sharing a city with each other, we only rarely have the pleasure of throwing these Highway Jams together. When we do, they are epic, you don’t want to miss this!

** Note the 8am meet-up time! We want to get as much skating in as we can! // read more

Fs Boards Inc Out OF NYC Now At Flatspot Longboards

We met Fs Boards a couple years ago when they came out to the Attack of Danger Bay here on the west coast. Getting to know these dudes it was clear their passion for skateboarding was deep and they were doing it right and having all the fun. With their roots firmly planted and growing out of their Long Island, NY garages, they have a DIY mentality much like us and have bootstrapped the production of their designs into a well rounded, but tight, line up of American made boards. Not only are their boards well crafted, they come with some clean, simple designs that really make them as stylish as they are functional. Gerry Kreuder [The Chief] and his crew at Fs Boards Inc. have pour more and more of their life, heart, and soul into creating some incredibly quality boards for their friends and community. // read more

Paris Truck Co. X Flatspot Longboards | Highway Jam XVIII

Paris Truck Co. joined us for the 18th Highway Jam a few weeks ago. We’ve been hosting Highway Jams for years now. Bringing the community together, we couldn’t be happier that the Paris Crew hopped on the bus for a full day of skating, pizza, ice cream and good times. We couldn’t have done it without the love and trust of Ryan Ricker and Paris Trucks, so thank you for making it happen to them!! <3 <3 // read more

2018 Max Capps Choplord Decks For Sale

Max Capps has been in the game for a long while as a top level skater but what most people don’t realize is that chopping boards got him into the game in the first place. Since the mid-2000’s, Max has tried to make the most out of every board by modifying them to have special functionality. Back in May, Max made a trip back to Vancouver for Danger Bay and stopped by Flatspot to chop a few boards while he was in town.

See some of the behind the scenes photos on his chops thanks to Tyler Topping here.

Max Capps Chop Lord Decks Are Back

Max Capps has been in the game for a long while as a top level skater but what most people don’t realize is that chopping boards got him into the game in the first place. Since the mid-2000’s, Max has tried to make the most out of every board by modifying them to have special functionality.

Back in May while he was in British Columbia to race Danger Bay, Max made a trip back to Flatspot to chop up a few boards and we asked Tyler Topping to snap some photos and help us tell the story. // read more
