Flatspot Weekly 08.02.16: JimZ Speed Parts, Best of 2015, Skate Invader x Flatspot T, and a weekly #FlatspotContest!

Hey there! So much has been happening we have barely had time to write blogs about it! Here’s a quick overview of some of the awesomeness as of late.

Here is a brief overview of what we are stoked on:

• JimZ Speed Parts – The first precision truck. Ever. And they are more awesome than ever.
• Flatspot x Alex Mof: Best of 2015 Edit – Alex Mof works his ass off to bring you all amazing edits! We couldn’t be more stoked with the results.
• Skate Invader x Flatspot: Skater Screen Printing – Colab shirts made by the infamous Jonathan Nuss!
• We have been holding a weekly contest! Don’t miss out on an opportunity for free gear!

JimZ Speed Parts

You might be wondering who JimZ is or why his SpeedParts are so special. Well, JimZ SpeedParts goes way back. They were rocking out before many brands today were even a twinkle in their founders eye.

JimZ trucks are unique because the hanger is two pieces that sandwich the hanger. You can undue the pins and open them up for yourself to check them out. Bending the axel on these is going to be rather difficult because its a 10mm hanger. This means you HAVE to use 10mm bearings. But fret not, we have 10mm bearings and will include a set with a purchase of the trucks.

They aren’t the lightest trucks on the market. But they are TANKS, will last you a lifetime, and are easily maintained.

Flatspot x Alex Mof: Best of 2015

Filmers/editors don’t always get the credit they deserve. Everyone focusses on the skaters, and the cool things they do. But let it be known that without people like Alex Mof, skaters would just be awkward kids doing dangerous stuff in isolation.

So we’d like to take a moment to give a Alex Mof a rhetorical hand of applause for all the work he did for us and the local skate community in 2015! Without this salty french Canadian we wouldn’t be able to showcase the awesomeness that is the Flatspot Team and Coast Longboarding. So watch his videos and if you ever meet him, buy him a beer.

Flatspot x Skate Invaders: Skater Screen Printing

Its not often we get stoked on apparel, but this is just too sweet not to gush about. Jonathan Nuss is the main man behind the cooperative known as the Skate Invaders. And he designed and screen printed a bunch of Flatspot X Skate Invaders shirts. He is a photographer by trade, but like so many skaters, has a wide range of skills. He printed this run of shirts in his living room in Toronto and we couldn’t be more stoked on them!
