Flatspot Longboards – Free Wheel Co.
Let your wheels set you free!
Free Wheel Co. has three amazing urethanes, each with their own characteristics. Get to know which one will suit your needs best!
The Gold Formula can be best described as chalky. The urethane they shed is very fine, and they have a very smooth slide as a result. Because of this they leave the thickest lines of all three urethanes. These wheels are not ideal for rougher pavements. They come in two shapes: The #FreeWillies at 69mm and the #FreeDumbs at 64mm. Both are 78a, centerset, and stone ground ready for shredding.
The Cash Money formula on the other hand is more sugary than chalky. Meaning that the urethane they shed is grittier and made of larger particles than that of the gold formula. When this formula has its fresh skin, its INSANELY grippy. It wears a little slower, and is good for all road surfaces. It will leave lines, but they will be a little on the fainter. The Free Loaders are an amazing competitive race wheel, with a large supportive core and nice fat contact patch. The Free Agents are a smaller side set version of the Loaders and are a great all around option, and a more than suitable cruiser wheel. The Free Ballins on the other hand are centerset, stone ground, and make for an awesome higher speed freeride wheel.
Finally, there is the Platinum Thane. Its not often you find urethane like this and the first word that comes to mind is GREASY. It slides with almost no resistance, wears super slow and evenly, and has the faintest kick out and grip up. As a result, these wheel take a little more finesse to skate. If you huck too hard they will just slip out. But if you get the hang of them you may find yourself having a stupid amount of fun on them! The Free Thoughts are sideset, and the Free Quincys are centerset. Both super fun options depending on how much clearance your set up has.
You may not believe how easily the platinum thane slides. So you should probably take a second to watch this edit and then everything will make sense.
