Independent Truck Size and Style Guide 2023

Independent Trucks might be build to grind and guaranteed for life, but if you have been watching their products the past year or so, they are also at the leading edge of design and geometry as well. If you prefer to ‘Fuck The Rest’  and only ride Indy, you’re in luck and have the deepest line up of trucks to choose from yet. Lets review the style and size guide for all these new models, so you can be sure to pick the right one for you.

Stage XI

Durable all purpose truck for any type of skateboarding. 55mm tall for optimal performance and wheel clearance with wheels 56mm and under. Stage XI Hollow

Lightweight version of Stage XI with hollow axle & kingpin. Stage XI Forged Hollow

Stage XI Forged Titanium

Ultra lightweight, mid-profile truck with the highest strength to weight ratio. 15% lighter than Stage XI standard trucks 53.5mm tall for optimal performance and wheel clearance with wheels 54mm and under. Stage 4

An update of the original Stage 4, single wing hanger design introduced in 1986. The new Stage 4 features the original Stage 4, single wing hanger design on a universal 6 hole baseplate. With tried and true, classic Indy geometry – Stage 4s are super quick and responsive. Fitted with perfectly sized, original cushions for superior stability, rebound, and snap. Stage 4s are made with all modern materials and manufacturing processes – making them more durable and longer lasting than the originals or any imitation. Sizes available: 136mm (8.0in), 146mm (8.375in), 151mm (8.625in), 166mm (9.0in) 55mm tall for optimal performance and wheel clearance with wheels 56mm and under. MID Inverted Kingpin

New Independent MiD trucks feature a lower profile hanger for optimal contact point angle on your nose and tail for flip tricks, ledges, and all-around street skating with a recommended wheel size of 53mm and under. The newly designed and first ever Independent inverted kingpin can be used with either a 5.5mm Allen key or standard 9/16″ hex wrench. The innovative new Shaft Nut in the baseplate creates a rigid and durable solution to lateral movement found in most inverted kingpin designs and increases adjustability. The new MiD is 52mm tall and built on Independent’s legendary geometry with full size cushions for maximum turning action and comes in 129, 139, 144, 149, 159 sizes. The all new design includes new size designations underneath the hanger for easy identification. 52mm tall for optimal performance and wheel clearance with wheels 53mm and under.
