Landyachtz Dinghy – BIG Fun Small Boards

Size isn’t always a determining factor when it comes to good times and the Landyachtz Dinghy is certainly no stranger to fun.

The folks at Landyachtz have been pumping out some of the raddest decks for the past 18 years. With boards like the Evo and Wolfshark it’s no wonder they’re one of the most widely recognized brands in the industry. Now we’re not saying Landyachtz started the “mini board” craze, or even jumped onto the train. But we are certain they’ve come up with one of the raddest little decks you could possibly put under your feet.

For 2016 Landyachtz decided to go all out and bring back their original shape in 2 sizes, the 24″ and 26″, as well as updating the graphics of their newer shaped dinghy. We’ve certainly spent a fair amount of time on plenty of minis and cruisers but we always found our way back to a dinghy. The 24″ and 26″ are ideal for anyone looking to have a compact, well built board for getting around town. While the standard, more updated version of the dinghy offers plenty of concave and a super useful tail for snapping up or down curbs.

We keep a dinghy or two around the shop for going to grab a beer after we close, taking a quick rip to the bank, or swinging by the post office. They’re small enough to carry on the bus or stuff in a locker if you need to. But certainly offer plenty of concave to throw some slides and rally hills on the skate home.

24″ Dinghy

The smallest and most compact of the group the 24″ dinghy comes in at 6.5″ wide with a 14″ wheelbase. The come complete with 85mm Polar Bears and 65mm Fatty Hawgs. The smallest deck to date from Landyachtz, it’s certainly going to be a fun little ripper at an affordable price.

26″ Dinghy

The slightly bigger brother to the 24″ dinghy comes in at just 2″ longer while keeping the same wheelbase and width. The biggest difference you’ll see in the 26″ is the more useful tail, and slightly upturned nose. Rocking the same components as the 24″ complete the 26″ offers a little more to it’s riders while still being that compact, super portable deck for getting around town.

“The” Dinghy

By Landyachtz description this is simply “Dinghy” but we like to not get all confused on which is which so for our sake it’s “The” Dinghy. Their most recent rendition of the classic deck that features a totally kickable tail, solid concave and wheel wells. Coming in at 28.5″ long, 8″ wide and a 14.6″ wheelbase, “The” dinghy is a compact, street slaying machine. Take  to the park and ride some transition, cruise down Cambie and throw a few slides on the way down, or mash some parkades on Thursday night.

Coming complete with 105mm Polar Bear trucks and 65mm Fatty Hawgs and either foam grip or standard, it’s setup up to get rad from the get go. With plenty of graphics to choose from there’s certainly one in the lineup to match your style, taste or personality.
