The TALISMAN from Boz Boards
This board is a well tuned and seemless combination of many fantastic freeride features. Which is a complicated way of saying that its awesome.
Welcome to the Flatspot Longboard Shop board breakdown. Today’s model is the BOZ TALISMAN.
So lets break this board down, and check out what it has to offer. First off, it has a subtle “W” concave, that is wide, and has no distinct ridge in the center. This means you still get the benefit of a pocket, without losing any maneuverability. It may not GRAB your feat, but it adds to the board feel and allows for more foot adjusting while riding.
The standing platform is a solid 27″ with 3d concave that wraps around towards the center of the board to give a far more locked in feeling than a conventional tub concave. This combined with the subtle “W” makes for fantastic pockets that still allow you to choose where to put your feet and adjust while riding.
This photo shows two things fantastically: First off, its symetrical, a requirement for any good freeride board. Secondly, it has kicktails. The days of never leaving the ground are over. These kicktails are fat, and uber functional. From blunt slides to shuv-its to your every-day ollie, they will do the trick. So it doesn’t matter what style you may have, if you like fast freeride of flatland freestyle, it will be a functional ride.
So the take home message. If you are looking for an affordable freeride board, Boz is an incredibly underrated company that makes a fantastic product. This deck retails for $165, and the hardwood maple construction will last you a full season of freeriding on this beast.
Oh, and I almost forgot. They only made 50. These are limited edition and numbered to prove it.
