North Vancouver City Fest 2017 Photo Recap

The 2017 North Vancouver City Fest was another epic year of fun in the sun with the youth of the North Shore!

This year we were out in full force as always and hosting the longboard race, our Learn to Stop Sessions, a new format Boarder-X course and some Dancing. We have worked with the youth of the North Shore all year to help plan this event and could not have done it without the incredible volunteers. We also could not have put on the event without the support of the City of North Vancouver, North Shore Neighborhood House, the North Shore Alliance Church and our sponsors, Cariboo Brewing, Predator Helmets, landyachtz Longboards, Sector 9 Canada and Skate Slate.

We took off from Flatspot early on the morning of the 4th to head out and meet the road crews to setup for the day and were met by an incredible group of volunteers to help setup the roads, keep watch over the course to keep everyone safe, and then clean up at the end of the day. Everyone put in a full day and we cant thank the volunteers enough!

All in all we had a reported 5000 plus people attend this years Youth Week event and over 100 skaters came out to enjoy the course, and various events to compete in. There were podiums, but everyone was a winner this day (cliche but true!)!

Open Longboard race winner was Alex Charleson;

Ladies winner was Kady Messenger;

Boarder-X winner was Stephen Vaughn (all the way from Florida!)
