Description
Powell Peralta – Mike Vallely Bug – 10in x 30.25in
Straight out of the Powell Peralta vaults, the Vallely Bug graphic was initially turned down by Mike himself, and almost lost to our dusty archives. Originally sketched for the Geegah shape, Mike went with the iconic Elephant design for his debut pro model—legendary in its own right. But now, thanks to Sean Cliver’s Disposable for inspiration, this unreleased graphic is finally dropping on the classic Elephant shape.
Bonus trivia: The colorway? Printed half-scale on copy paper and brought to life with magic marker. DIY history.
Discovered at a Virginia Beach contest by Neil Blender and Lance, a young Mike Vallely was asked to join the Powell-Peralta team and quickly rose to fame as a premier street skater. After initially rejecting the Roach graphic, Vallely worked closely with VCJ on an elephant theme. Mike and his elephant deck were both very popular. Mike currently runs Street Plant, a 100% independently owned and operated family business.
